In addition to loosening the black tonearm mounting board which attaches the board to the plinth, you can also loosen the 3 VTA tower screws that attaches the vta tower to the mounting board to gain additional play.

When i reattached the VTA/tonearm base, I twisted it as far counter clockwise as I could. In so doing, in the end, the spindle to pivot was 258mm so I'm good now. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.

Above, i should have said I can buy a new arm board.

Can I buy a new arm board to fix this issue of the wiring block not being parallel to the back of the plinth?

Yes, they are readily available but come in different shapes and sizes depending on the production run. It would be best to send a picture to your dealer to make sure that get the correct tonearm spacer/armboard.

Nope - I don't have an ART 9 but was interested in how it performs as an addition to using my Ortofon Winfield.
