Phoenix Eagle causes vibration w/ 300 RPM motor

Postby louie3 » Tue May 14, 2019 12:49 pm

Folks,

Anyone who is using a Phoenix Eagle or Falcon with a 300 RPM motor have vibration in motor?

Had vibration bad enough to hear when playing record.

By-passed Eagle, plugged motor direct to wall....vibration gone.

Matt, Harry, anyone?

The fact that the motor runs fine plugged directly into the wall would suggest a problem with the Phoenix.

Bill, the former owner of Phoenix, does drop by this forum on occasion but you might have better luck if you post your question on DiyAudio.com where he is a frequent participant (user name Pyramid).

Have you tried unplugging the Eagle and then powering it back up?

Thanks, BRF,

I will try re-booting the Phoenix.

It is just that the motor is vibrating more with the Phoenix vs. plugged into the wall.

(And runs slightly fast plugged into the wall... :D

Can you share video of the motor operating with and without the Eagle? Where did you get the Eagle? Have you done a factory reset (if you got it used, the voltage may have been changed)?

The Falcon would not work with the 300RPM motor, BTW. The 300RPM motor requires too-high wattage for the Falcon, which is why the Eagle was created to fill that gap.

But yes, Bill is pretty responsive to those kind of questions.
