Replacment bearings TNT 5

Bought one of your Aries 2 12" decks years ago and was wondering at this point how I might check the bearing integrity and what one does now if you need to replace the bearings?I have a friend with same era deck and he has talked to a number of people including Matt at shows but doesn't know the answer if the performance degrades etc.Is there maintenance that should be done like when I had the motor sent in and re-greased?

The TNT5 bearing is very easy to service. All you need to do is replace the 1/4" ball bearing on the male spindle shaft and lower screw in thrust plate. Alternatively, you send in bearing assembly only back to VPI and they can perform the service for a modest sum.
