Finger Lift 12.6 arm

Finger Lift 12.6 arm

Does anyone know if you can remove the finger lift from a 12.6 arm headshell? I am trying to use my Dinolite camera to set SRA and the finger lift is in the way. TIA

Not really, they are pressed fitted. In some instances they come loose and can be easily fixed with a touch of super glue.

My finger lift is exactly the same as yours. I removed it more than a year ago after acquiring a compatible type external lift piece I felt comfortable using anytime. I didn't know if the original shaft pin was screwed in, glued or press fit. After own evaluation I was almost sure it was press fit and possibly glued. I used a soldering iron to carefully heat the pin to break the joint, surely if it was glued. I carefully twisted it with a pliers to see if it moved. It did, and again being most careful, it was removed nicely and without any damage. Problem solved. I never liked the previous type. I found it hard to finger the arm to inner tracks of the record. Now its so easy. The lift is a SME type profile. Not an original, not the best but it works for me. Most recently, I bought and installed a set of 1877phono bullet type cartridge clips with colored heat shrinks (from all black). Nothing wrong with the previous clips, I just thought a set of new and better looking clips is justified.
