Kieth Jarrett - Mysteries

Image

Kieth Jarret and his music is often controversial. This LP is a 1976 release and may not be to everyone's taste, with Dewey Redman on Tenor Saxophone, Charlie Haden on Bass, Paul Motian on Drums, Guilhermo Franco on Percussion, Kieth Jarrett on Piano, Pakistani flute, wood drums, percussion. Of course, I like it.

All electric guitar from the 70s to I don’t know! Simply amazing, electric guitar fans need to check out www.rickbeato.com for the top ten solos in each decade. Also, try a search for Great Guitar Series. This is some of the best YT content out there. No BS, no talking, just great up close production. No it’s not high end, but it sure is entertaining.
What do you guys think?

On a Mulligan jag. Love this band. Saw them at the old Birdland back in the day.

Keith Jarrett - Piano
Gary Peacock - Bass
Jack DeJohnette - Drums

Here's that hard working man again, the Keith Jarrett Trio
This Standards Vol. 1 LP was released in 1983 and seems like it was a million years ago! These three artists work together so very well!

Look for the Black Star - Dewey Redman

Image

Dewey Redman - Tenor Saxophone
Jym Young - Piano
Donald Raphael Garrett - Bass
(On "Seven And One,"-Clarinet)
Eddie Moore - Drums

This is not an LP you are likely to find easily. Dewey Redman is not a household jazz name, unless you listen to a lot of music by Kieth Jarrett, or maybe live in the San Francisco Bay Area, or possibly New York City. He is an outstanding tenor saxophonist and reed player.
PS. After listening to this LP several times in the past few days, and as much as I enjoy it, I should mention this LP should not be, and is not a beginners listening experience.(MMMC)

Another of my favorite Jazz pianist's is McCoy Tyner. This LP is one he recorded fairly early in his career and before his greater later acclaim received as a member of John Coltrane's group. He's only 25 years of age for this recording, but I feel his playing is distinctive even at this early stage.
