Classic motor

Postby wbradley » Wed Feb 28, 2018 2:44 pm

Hi Matt,

I have a bent motor shaft on my 2014 Classic rear motor. The speed seems .1 to .2 RPM slow possibly due to the flutter of the pulley.

Anyway, wanted to replace and just wanted to ask if it was the 600 RPM lower torque or the higher torque unit for replacement?

Thanks

Hey wbradley,

Sorry to hear about it being bent. Yes, the Classic stock model was a 600 RPM motor so that is what you need. Shoot my guys an email and they can get the ball rolling :)

Make sure that the pulley is properly seated and torqued on the motor shaft before you do anything. It is very rare for a motor shaft to bend. The only consumable part on a VPI motor are the bushings.

"The only consumable part on a VPI motor are the bushings."

Good to know; any estimate on the life expectancy, in hours, of the aforementioned bushings? Thanks!
