Replacment bearings TNT 5

Harry
Bought one of your Aries 2 12" decks years ago and was wondering at this point how I might check the bearing integrity and what one does now if you need to replace the bearings?I have a friend with same era deck and he has talked to a number of people including Matt at shows but doesn't know the answer if the performance degrades etc.Is there maintenance that should be done like when I had the motor sent in and re-greased?
Thanks

The TNT5 bearing is very easy to service. All you need to do is replace the 1/4" ball bearing on the male spindle shaft and the screw in thrust plate which is located on the bottom of the female platter bearing. Alternatively, you send in bearing assembly only back to VPI and they can perform the service for a modest sum.

The perfect answer. Usually the ball change is amazing after all these years. Don't forget to re-lube the well with the new PTFE super grease they sell on Amazon.
