Audioquest Niagara 1000

Audioquest Niagara 1000

Postby Dorian » Tue Feb 13, 2018 5:20 pm

I got one of these about a month ago and it has been nothing short of a revelation. Everything is better, nothing is worse. I was just plugged into a regular power strip before. Night and day dramatic overall improvement. Disclaimer: I do not work for audioquest or its dealers. Just a very impressed customer.

Anyone else try one of these?

Have read other good things about this. Can you describe in more detail how "everything is better". I don't doubt it, just want to understand as I have considered getting one of these. Thanks.

Most notably I'm hearing fuller, punchier bass, greater detail and in particular longer decays. Also better overall liquidity and flow. Really everything is better. It's not subtle. I was skeptical too; I bought it from Amazon assuming I'd take advantage of their return policy, but I won't be!

Now you've started down the slippery slope. Whatever you do, don't audition a PS Audio Power Plant or your wallet won't forgive you.

Yes, don’t buy a PS Audio Power Plant. It will probably break. After owning a GCPH phono stage and 3 power products (the latest a Power Plant Premier) all of which broke, I will never do business with PS Audio again. I am not a paid spokesperson for PS Audio.

The Power Plant Premiers were notorious for having issues: It took me four tries to get one that worked flawlessly--but even it still had to be repaired eventually after 8 years of use. I have not seen the same concerns with the current generation (P3, P5, etc.). All other PS Audio products I've had (Superlink II, Ultralink II, P300 Power Plant, Humbuster, GCPH) worked for years with no problems.
