Thanks. I'll have to try it one of these days.

Picked up a modest SUT. The Denon AU-310. Looking forward to hearing it. Thanks to MMMC.

After studying up on SUTs, I am hooked. Currently looking into Rothwell, Bob's Device, and Miyajima SUTs for the Kansui. The Denon AU-310 is okay. Rings a bit. Connected to a 47k load, it presents a 470ohm load to the cartridge. It is a bit too high and Kansui sounds a little tippy in the highs. 270ohms sounded the best to me without a SUT.

Call Bob at Bob's devices and he'll do the math and then built the SUT to suit. Just saw that, SUT to suit. Sorta funny?

Back on the SUT hunt. Does anyone have experience with the Hashimoto HM-7 based SUTs? I heard Choir Audio makes them but they are no longer in business?

I'm curious if you guys have compared a SUT to running your MC cartridge directly into your phono preamp 'wide open' (@47k) assuming you had ample gain available. And if you did and you still prefer the SUT, what exactly were the benefits/improvements over just the phono stage? Thank you.

I am not familiar with Zesto gear. I’ll check them out.

Hey Jazz

I headed down the same path a while back and spent some significant money on one of the top SUTs there is. That device was the Coincident Signature. No matter how hard I tried and no matter the interconnect cables there was no way I could eliminate hum. Belive me, I tried everything. If you purchase an SUT, try to get a money back satisfaction guarantee....I lost a bit of cash when I sold the Coincident. I was very fortunate to find a Vendetta Research SCP-1 head amp and it is beyond my wildest expectations....Absolutely silent....Your experiences may be vastly different but this was my one time adventure with an SUT...

All the Best

I've been using the HM7 for a while. You can still order them.
