FYI I was also concerned (well mildly anyway) about the aesthetics of the brass with my Avenger. After discussing with Dan he's making me a set of TerraCones with nickel finish. I should receive them in a few days . . . so we'll see how they look. I'm also getting him to make up a TerraStone platform to work with the Avenger foot print.

JMCox:
Your mention of your house being a vibrating box reminds me of an idea I want to try. While I have a concrete floor, I have a front wall that vibrates with my A/C fan motor. I may try adding stone countertop material to the wall to dampen the vibrations. I am suggesting you do something similar where your TT mounting bracket is attached to your wall. I would add about 30 pounds to the wall studs to lower the frequency of vibrations. I can’t tell you how much improvement you will get, but I think you will be very pleased with the result.

Edit:
I have a tile floor on a slab. All tiles were “back buttered”. MDF would be much easier to attach to my wall than stone or concrete stepping blocks for added mass. My Bottom TT platform is granite. Not wanting to disrupt this thread, maybe a new topic called Room Acoustics would be appropriate.

Hello, just as a follow-up I'd like to post photos of my TerraCone footers on my Avenger - while sitting on a Terrstone platform. Dan over at Edensound was so very helpful that I'd like to give him a public thank you. The platform was custom made to fit the Avenger footprint and the TerraCones were constructed with a nickel finish to more closely match the Avenger finish. He does beautiful work.

Sweet! That almost seems like sacrilege for that deck, though! :P

I would also recommend trying different pucks/point receivers. When I got the Bearpaws, I also got his low profile point receivers with non-skid pad. I was not terribly impressed with that combo over time. It wound up kind of harsh. Then I stumbled on a sale for the titanium point receivers at Herbie's Audio Labs and grabbed them. Still pretty pricey for simple puckies, but I'm much happier with the results, likely due to the combination of different metals (brass into titanium) as well as the dbNeutralizer material being better than the squishy friction pads on the Eden pucks. At 4 times the price it damn well better being an audible difference. Subtle but audible.

So are you hearing any differences between the stock Avenger feet and the TerraCones?
