80's synthpop > today's synthpop

Never apologize for something like this. Hell, I just bought an Erasure album on my last record store visit.

can you please clarify which CB album your referring to and which pressing? Thanks! (and by "startlingly different", I assume you mean it's an improvement).

Hi ,

Try Ed Sheeran’s Multiply Album . It’s a double LP , 45RPM , 180 gram and mastered by Rick Rubin . Sounds good for a pop album. I told my audiophile friends about it and when they heard it in they’re mega buck system they were impressed.
Another one is the Al Di Meola’s LP , also a double 45 RPM LP 180 gram. The album title is All Your Life . Fantastic record , Al’s cover of Beatles songs.
Rickie Lee Jones LP , a double 45 RPM LP also 180gram. Great LP . My favourite cut is her version of Steely Dan’s Showbiz Kids . The album title is “It’s Like This “

Happy New Year in Advance Guys ,

The new pressing of Beck - Mutations sounds great. Also on the music on vinyl label Alice in Chains sounds spectacular, a must buy sound wise. That b52's album on the mofi label is a stunner sound wise.

I like we'll recorded alternative. Keep them coming.

If you expand “Alternative” (which I associate with the 90s) to Indie, there are a ton of great modern releases on vinyl. Elbow’s last 2 releases are both brilliantly recorded and good pressings ( the Take Off and Landing of Everything is even worth dealing with 45 RPM). El Vy’s record (singer from the National) sounds great. The Raconteurs “Consolers of the Lonely” is a great Hi-Fi show off record. Radiohead’s “In Rainbows”. The National’s “Trouble will Find Me” gets played on my TTs so often it’s probablh got worn grooves. If your tastes run heavier, the Melvin’s “the Bride Screamed Murder” and Cursive’s “Gemini” both rock on vinyl. There’s a whole world of music out there, man! 8-)
