Looks very nice. I am looking to buy a MM phono stage for my nephew for Xmas and I have one questions.

On the website is says it will take an 3mv signal and output a 500mv signal. How do I know if that is enough gain and what happens if his MM cartridge does not output 3mv?

Johnny, the 3mv to 500mv is just an example of the logarithmic expression of 44db used to express gain.

20log(500mv / 3mv) = 44db

The average amplifiers need less than 2 volts from the preamp to produce full power. Most preamps have a gain of approximately 12 to 15db, coupled with the Cliffwood’s gain of 44db gives you a total available gain of 56 to 59db which will be enough gain for almost all MM cartridges.

20log (2v / .003v) = 56db

You have no worries.
