RMAF 2016 - Walnut Prime

RMAF 2016 - Walnut Prime

Postby Mat » Wed Sep 14, 2016 1:45 pm

We are getting ready for RMAF (and for TAVES but that will be another post!)

We are excited to announce we will be showing for the first time the VPI Prime in Walnut vinyl wrapped finish at RMAF. The table will be shipping mid to end October in the US. It offers the same sonic signature of a standard black Prime but now with a different, "classic" look!

In addition:

We are very excited and proud to be attending Rocky Mountain Audio Fest this year and showcasing our Player by VPI table as an affordable high-end all inone solution for people to enjoy their music!

Located in the Marriott Tower, Room 2017
Speakers: Ono Lava ($2,995)
Integrated Amplifier: Wyred 4 Sound mINT ($1,499)
Turntable: VPI Player ($1,199)

Hmmm, interesting. I like the look in black, but that shape in wood will take some getting used to. Is that real wood veneer, or something else?

Mat can you retrofit he wrap on a table?

Any other colors available? I'd kinda like a red scout ;-)

Aesthetics are so subjective, therefore, I will qualify my statement with a big "IMHO"...... vinyl wraps that "try" to emulate the look of real wood always look cheap. Now wrapping it in a sustainable exotic real wood veneer would be a different story.

I'm with Brf on this. By the look of it I assumed it was vinyl but didn't want to insult anyone. With the curves on that plinth it would be difficult, read expensive, to put real veneer on it. Might require a redesign to make it easier, which I know isn't going to happen and doesn't bother me. To each his own ...

Actually it would be easy to veneer it,,Been working with veneer for over 40 years,,You can bend veneer around a 1/2 inch curve with out it splitting ,,The Prime corners are a lot bigger then that,,,,If I could get a Plinth with out the vinyl on it I would love to do it ,,,Not a fan of vinyl,,,

Sorry Mat,

I can not think of anything "vinyl wrapped" as "exciting". I hope you rethink that product introduction. A true walnut veneer would be more appropriate, regardless of cost, and as a special order.

Wonder how a solid wood plinth, say, in Baltic Birch, al la the Palmer table, would change the harmonics. Sound aside, it would look great, as it would with the Avenger. Rich

Hmmmm, vinyl wrapped wood look......right out of the 80's. Looks cheap. How about a automotive gloss black painted Prime?
