VPI Green Cartridge

Postby krimx0n » Thu Sep 30, 2021 2:34 am

Hi anyone have any info how the VPI Green Cartridge performs? Maybe compared to 2M Blue / Nagaoka MP110/150?

TIA

That cartridge is discontinued. Are you looking to buy used?

I used a Nagaoka MP200 briefly. It was slightly warm-sounding, not overly detailed. A good cartridge -

I have an MP110 and like it alot in my budget system. Just got my Scout jr. with 2M Red, i like the detail but its borderline sibilant.. Thinking of getting the VPI green as an alternative... just wanted to know if its worth it...

I would definitely get a better (i.e. more expensive) cartridge. You're going to find that a better cartridge can amaze you. Wish
I could be helpful re your VPI Green question. The 2M Red doesn't seem to have many fans. What are you willing to spend (not a rhetorical question)?

I'm considering HANA SL, Dynavector 10x5 and Sumiko BlackBird unfortunately these are not available where iam.. Only readily available are Ortofons and ATVM95's...so looking at 2M broze.now..

I think you will like 2M Bronze. I've never used Ortofon, but, everything 2M Blue and up have had good consumer responses.

Ortofon Quintet Bronze sounds amazing with my VPI classic. Better than a Dynavector XX2 which is 3X the price. Better than the Sumiko Blackbird.

HW recommended the Quintet Bronze to me and he was totally right.
