VPI Kills the Scout 1.1, Big Mistake

I want buy a VPI but now to my surprise VPI kills the Scout 1.1

What's the problem now? the true the Cliffwood and Player are nice but not worth spend $1000 on that ones. So the next is the Scout Prime for $2500.

As you see there's a BIG! gap of $1500 between both.

So the Scout 1.1 is a middle between both, it would be great buy a Scout 1.1 for $1500 but is dead now.

I think VPI needs a table between the Cliffwood and Scout Prime.

$2500 to me is too much and $1000 for the Cliffwood is too much. I would be happy to pay $1500 for a Scout 1.1 that really worth.

IIRC, the Scout 1.1 retailed for $2000 back in 2013 and was replaced by the redesigned Scout Prime which retails at $2500. Not a large price disparity when you factor in inflation and increase manufacturing cost.

My point is VPI needs a table between $1000 to $2500, no matter the name Scout 1.1, Junior Scout, Mini Scout, or wharever name. The price range is too extreme.

So at the point I can't buy a NEW VPI. I'm going to do a research for other brands.

But my point is, that VPI needs a middle table under the prime.

Bought a used HW19jr in mint shape for under $600 with the arm it shipped with. I am enjoying every minute with it. You have many great options if you buy used.

It would be craziness for VPI to have a different model for every price point. They would have hundreds of models.
I see VPI as a mid to high end manufacturer. They have an entry level table and then increase from there. I would imagine the entry level table would be better than the same price point from a low to mid end manufacturer.
Buy second hand if you can’t afford new.
