Interesting fact: A human prosthetic arm with moving parts made with a 3D printer costs $350.
Avenger (w/mods), SS Paua cart, Phoenix Eagle psu and tach, Sutherland 20/20 phono, Audionet Pre 1 G3, Benchmark AHB2 monos, YG Carmel 2 spkrs, JL e112 subs, Nordost/Audio Sensibilty ic, Kubla-Sonsa spkr cable; Auralic Aries renderer, Auralic Vega dac.

It should be noted that the $350 is a "material" cost only figure and does not take into consideration the capital cost of the 3D printer, labor, programming, R&D, etc.

Having said that, 3D printer technology has significantly reduced the total cost and has adanced the whole medical prosthetic segment. My son is a Biomedical Engineer and I am constantly amazed at what technology has done to advance his field, most of which I barely understand. We are not too far off from seeing a Bionic man.

Yes. Those made without a 3D printer using the design they developed .
