anti skate issue

Postby Hairsonfire » Tue Jan 02, 2018 4:48 pm

Hey folks - recently been having an issue with my Scout. When the record is finished playing, the tonearm, instead of just ending up at the center of the record and awaiting my attention, will now "re-bound" backwards to about the middle of the last track. I checked the anti skate mechanism and it looks exactly the same as when I originally set it up almost a year ago. It has done this on every record. How do I fix this? Your help is eagerly anticipated most appreciated.

Pick up the arm with your fingertip, and slowly move it from its rest to the end of where a record would be. Try to discover where there is a binding in your arm movement. Perhaps you can detach the thread and feel if the same binding occurs. Is the arm hitting anything as is travels its normal progression? etc.

Thanks for replying Stringreen - I'll give that a try. I'm supposed to speak with a tech later today. :)
