Temporary fix. Placed some brass weights from mapleshade on top. Out of sight, out of mind

I would rub the stain with some auto polishing compound first. Use a cotton T-shirt or microfiber cloth. Rub a little and wipe dry. It will remove a little finish and maybe your stain as well. Rub with the grain direction.

Thank you. I actually took some isopropyl alcohol and then a touch up marker with the following result. Not great but better than before. A refinisher should be over the house next week to see if I can get better results. If not I may sell and start over. Have not decided on that yet

Here in Scottsdale, Az, there are a couple of furniture refinishers that are truly excellent. I had them fix a scratch on a chair....absolutely invisible. I haven't had anyone refinish my speakers, but I don't see that a good refinisher couldn't do the job.

I know I said I was going to change my snarky tone around here but this makes it hard. You are really going to sell a pair of speakers that you like the sound of because of a blemish that is maybe an inch across? You have improved the appearance and covered it with a brass weight. Convince yourself that the weight makes it sound better and save your dough for more music. It is supposed to be about the sound right? It adds character; like a scar.

How much are you willing to give me for a one of a kind character piece ? I will even sign it for you. ;)
In all seriousness, I don't find you snarky at all. You are right but I have always been this way with things that I own. It's a flaw of mine that admittedly I have a hard time getting over. We all have our faults and imperfections.
Easier said than done for me to forget about it but I will try.

I know what you mean. OTOH, I would give you next to full price if I liked the sound. After all, I just paid 800 for a beat pair of speakers that cost 500 when new. It is ALL ABOUT THE SOUND!
