New Super Prime Scout Running Slow

Postby Kevpmcl » Sat Dec 02, 2017 9:20 pm

Hello all. New to the forum and a new owner of a VPI Super Prime Scout that I purchased from Upscale Audio. I’m hoping someone can help with some advice. I’m having an issue with the motor running consistently slow. The rpm speed is varyin 32.78 to 32.85 rpms. I’ve checked to make sure all set screws on the motor are tight. I’ve also tried different pulley grooves and moving the motor closer and farther away from the platter. No matter what, no luck. Does anybody have any over suggestions to try? Could I have a bad motor? Thanks, Kevin.

I just made basically the same post about my new Super Prime Scout. I found that the belt on the top groove of the pulley gets a very accurate speed with the motor about 5/8" from the platter.
