Stuck in lead in groove

+1 for the Jelco-45. It is a bit irritating to replace a new part, but for $65 it was worth it to me for the smoother operating part that never gets stuck. The current stock part settled in after a few weeks, but still occasionally would get stuck, especially after sitting for a while. Leaving it in the down position helped a little, but not perfect.

To be fair to VPI, I didn't give them an opportunity to fix or replace. Maybe they just got a bad batch of parts. Having used the Jelco for several years on other VPI tables, I knew it would work and didn't want to spend any further time on it.

For anyone else looking at the jelco , I just found out that audio sensibility carries them at a fair price. Might hit up Steve again. I ordered the impact se phono cables from him which I like a lot. Curiosity got the best of me and I just ordered the silver statement to compare. I'm only going to keep one. Why oh why could I not have found a less expensive hobby ?

My tonearm lift wasn't working properly from day 1 on my brand new Prime Signature. I had to be really careful lowering the tonearm lever otherwise the needle/cart/tonearm would smash into the vinyl.

I purchased one of those JL-45's from Audio Sensibility. It appears to function much better, but I can't seem to remove the tiny screw on the top. What type of screwdriver do I need?

I've managed to take the old tonearm lift out with no problem. The Jelco has more weight to it and appears to be much better made than the stock.

Yeah - figured it out. Just need to turn it at an angle and it slips in. Would still like to know what type of screwdriver is needed in case of maintenance further down the road - i.e. if it needs a top up of silicone.
