On/Off switch capacitors

On/Off switch capacitors

Postby jhm3 » Fri Jun 17, 2016 4:27 pm

Recently, my HW19 Jr. has been creating pops in my system when turned off. I have read in these forums that all I need to do is replace the .001mf cap across the switch. Can I assume that this value is correct for my Jr. as well as the Scout in the forum? (120v AC)

New Prime owner here, experiencing the same issue with the Prime motor during shut off. The audible pop occurs only in the left speaker when pressing the power button off. Unless someone says otherwise, I suppose I too will have to replace the cap across the switch? If so, can I also make a request for one of those caps? Thanks!

I have a 14 month old Aries 3 that experiences this popping issue IF I don't mute my speakers before turning motor on/off. Will this capacitor work on the motor?

The only X1/Y2 rated cap I have on hand is 3300pf. Anyone know if this would work?

Why doesn't VPI just ship their tables with the correct capacitor value to begin with??
