Tonearm and stylus weight

Tonearm and stylus weight

Postby halstep » Sat Jun 08, 2019 7:17 pm

I'm new to high-end turntables. I don't know much about them. I have a Scout. I cannot get the weights calibrated. On the tonearm, I have the weight pushed all the way towards me and yet when I put then stylus on the scale it doesn't even read one gram. I'm not sure what to do. Help

By your description, it sounds like you need a lighter counter weight. There should be a stamp on your counter weight indicating the weight in grams. Purchase the next lighter weight.

Is the tonearm correctly sitting on the unipivot? I remember doing this with my Prime. I had the unipivot at the edge of the tonearm "socket" and the balance was way off. Gently lift the tonearm off of the unipivot and set it back down dead center. Good luck!
