Prime motor not turning platter

Prime motor not turning platter

Postby Darkstar1 » Mon Nov 19, 2018 8:45 pm

My motor does not seem to be getting enough friction/torque to turn the platter. It will get up to speed if I push the platter but the speed stability leaves somthing to be desired.

Is it the belt? I think I got oil in the pully housing and the axle therfore does not have enough torque to spin the platter.

Anyone else experience this? Is there a fix? Or is it time to buy a new motor?

Thanks in adavanced.

Check you set screws on the motor pulley (tighten)

Thank you so much solved. Moved to NYC 7 months ago and been working crazy hours. Never had time to look into this. Was just super disappointed my TT was not working well when I had a brief moment to listen. You have no idea how happy I am. So simple.

Thank You.
