Mk V Platter

Mk V Platter

What can I say...tweaking is a disease and I know of no cure. I am now on my third platter. It started with an all acrylic Black Knight, moved up significantly to a Mk IV (aluminum, lead, delrin and cork). This evening I installed a mint Mk V which is stainless steel and delrin. It came with a ceramic bearing as well.

The short review: another step up in performance, particularly in terms of transparency. It really sounds good. It has been a little bit of a circuitous route to get to this point but the more exotic vintage platters like Mk IV, V and Super Platters don't pop up often. Brf is certainly one to thank for his sage advice...

TNT Jr, Graham Phantom III, ZYX Universe II LOMC, Tempo Electric Silver Phono Cable, Amazon B-lab Phonoamplifyer, Tom Evans - The Vibe, Lamm ML 2.1 Monoblocks, Avantgarde Duo Grosso....and a Thorens TD 160 Mk I in standby....
