If I place it on the platter right-side up without an LP there, it will touch the wheel of my rim drive.

My wife(!) fabricated a well-padded hook that hangs on the side of my VPI TNT stand (wonderful stand for the price, BTW).

Now I hang the ring there while changing records or sides, and store it on the platter. No damage after 3-4 years.

It beats putting it around your neck, as I saw at AXPONA in the Magico room!

Yup, I have a padded hook on the left side of my rack.
