My New Avenger

My New Avenger

Postby Tullman » Sun Mar 25, 2018 11:11 am

Here is my Avenger with feet and tonearm upgrades. I have a Soundsmith Hyperion mounted on the tonearm, going through my Convergent Audio Technology Renaissance Black Path preamp. Great synergy with these components. My vinyl playback experience is amazing. I traded up from the VPI Prime.

Looks great. The Avenger is such a nice machine...I have a suggestion for you. If you are using the standard VPI drive belts, it looks like they are stretched quite a bit...From what I have read in the past, I think your motor pod should be closer to your plinth...You want the belts to have the minimal amount of tension/stretch possible without slipping....FWIW

Hopefully BRF will confirm or correct this thought.

All the best

Nice! How are you liking the cart? Did you have a different cart before that one?

Love your system! I am a big fan of the Black Path Cat!! I owned the Ultimate but the Black Path is in a different league.

Beatific table. Like the black Symposium ultra also, really sets the table off. What specific differences in sound did you experience between your prime and the new avenger. Nice to see you posting here as well as the Steve Hoffman forums as well.
