Prime Signature

I gave into the Trade up offer from SoundStage Direct (again) and upgraded from Prime to Prime Signature. Just spinning the first few records and it is sounding pretty sweet.

Hi,

Congratulations on the new Prime Signature , the looks reminds me of the HR-X & Aries 3. Did the SDS come standard ? Or was it an option instead of the ADS ?

Best regards ,

Thanks!

The SDS I purchased previously with my Prime, there isn't a speed controller included with the Signature.

I notice you have two belts on your prime signature. I only have one. Is their an advantage to having two?

Harry had recommended using 2 or 3 belts instead of one. In order to do so, you need to get an HRX Pulley. You also need an SDS/ADS or other speed controller if you want to play 45rpm records with the HRX Pulley. The stock pulley (the one you can use to switch between 33rpm and 45rpm) is slightly conical to fine tune speed, so you can only use one belt.

I tried 1, 2 and 3 belts and didn't find a huge difference, but overall clarity seemed to be slightly better with 2 or 3. Very subtle, but also pretty inexpensive so not much to lose giving it a try. I had them SWAP out the pulley when I ordered the table, so the only cost was the extra belts.
