Just finished up a much needed project a few days ago, thought I would share.

I prefer a "Flip Through" type rack as my old eyes have trouble reading the spine fine print. I don't have a big collection, and don't ever plan to, so this works fine for me.

Wow, beautiful record rack!!! Did you make the steel support below or is it from an old/antique piece of furniture or kitchen sink?

Damn... that's really cool, actually. Nice work! Now just make yourself some nice dividers for better organization and you're set!

I put together the Base using 1-1/2" Black Iron, I had the local Hardware store cut and thread the pipe to length. I wanted something solid to support the weight, as the rack itself is made from two full sheets of 3/4" material, that and the weight of the Vinyl is pretty hefty.

It seems pretty solid.

Very good idea! But I can pretty much pick out anything at random :D I don't have a large collection, and never will. I've tried to limit my purchases to VERY good recordings and pressings.

My own collection is about the same size (for now), and I find it a bit tedious trying to scan for things. That said, I don't have it well organized, as my recent purchases are kept separate from my fully cleaned albums. Maybe some day I'll get through cleaning enough of these things to warrant better organization. :P
